Herefordshire gritters ready to keep roads moving this winter
The annual trials, carried out by Herefordshire Council and Balfour Beatty Living Places, ensure that vehicles, equipment, and systems are ready to keep the county’s highways safe during the colder months.
The council’s salting operation, based at the Salt Dome in Birkenhead, deploys around 2,100 tonnes of rock salt over 10 pre-planned routes during an average winter.
